If you purchased your home under the Government’s Help to Buy incentive and you’re looking to sell, remortgage or increase the amount of equity in your home then you will need to appoint a Chartered Surveyor to complete a Help to Buy valuation. Target HCA, the Government’s provider of Help to Buy loans, require an accurate valuation of your home.
Morgan Sloane are fast, reliable and local, so why not arrange your Help to Buy Valuation by enquiring today to book your slot.
Why do I need a Help to Buy valuation?
When you purchase your property with the Government’s Help to Buy scheme, you are taking out a loan against a percentage of the equity on your Help to Buy property. That means Target HCA effectively owns a percentage of your home.
Property prices can change over time, so when you sell, remortgage or buy more equity in your home you need to provide Target HCA with an independent valuation to ensure you repay the amount that reflects the current market value of your property.
How do you make a Help to Buy valuation?
A Chartered Surveyor from Morgan Sloane with experience of the local housing market will produce a Help to Buy report which qualifies with the expectations of Target HCA.
Once you receive the report, it must be sent to Target HCA as soon as possible as it is only valid for 3 months. Due to the 3 month restraint, we recommend appointing a Chartered Surveyor when you are certain you’re in the position to sell, remortgage or release more equity in your Help to Buy home. If you would like a better understanding of the timescale, Morgan Sloane will be more than happy to discuss this with you.
