Why do I need a Help to Buy valuation?
When purchasing a home with the government’s Help to Buy scheme you would have entered into a contract with Target HCA who own a percentage of your property.
When you’re in the position to sell, remortgage or buy more equity in your home you will need to provide Target HCA with a valuation from an independent, RICS registered Chartered Surveyor. House prices change over time so the valuation ensures you will repay the correct amount back to Target HCA, which is based on the current value of your property.
How do you make a Help to Buy valuation?
One of our Chartered Surveyors will make a brief inspection of your property, then based on their knowledge of the local housing market will compose a Help to Buy Valuation report, which is sent to Target HCA who will calculate your repayment figure from the value of your loan.
The Help to Buy Valuation report is valid for 3 months, so it’s important that you have everything in order and you’re in the position to sell, remortgage or buy more equity before you instruct your chartered surveyor.
